About Ian

I'm Ian Morris. I've been involved in the New Zealand music and advertising industries for 30 years, writing songs, commercials and jingles. If you'd like to learn more about my musical meanderings, there's a more in-depth bio here.

Over the years I've worked on some great ad campaigns for New Zealand and international clients like Ford, Telecom, Carlton & United Breweries, Holden and Coca-Cola.

I learned how to program computers before I even owned one! In 1983 I managed to save up for a Sinclair ZX-81 and put my theory into practice. In 1985 I got an Apple Macinstosh and have been hooked on Macs ever since.

I've lived mainly in Auckland and Wellington, but in 2004 I moved with my wife Kim and twin daughters Maude and Julia to Napier in Hawke's Bay on New Zealand's east coast. Napier is a wonderful place: a devastating earthquake in 1931 saw much of the city rebuilt in Art Deco style. The climate here is perfect for grapes - hoorah! - and there's a thriving artistic community.

Although I still work on the "big jobs", right now I'm interested in supplying design and audio services to the myriad small businesses and community organisations that make up the fabric of real New Zealand life.
